Getting your farm certified
From joining the group to selling certified produce.
- 1 Join a cluster Register with the cluster covering your district and pay the year's dues.
- 2 Accept the constitution Read it and record your acceptance. It sets what the group can ask of you.
- 3 Complete the self-assessment Eight sections on how you actually farm. It saves as you go and works offline.
- 4 Submit and book A submitted assessment can be booked for inspection. Unsubmitted ones cannot.
- 5 Host the panel Three to five inspectors walk the farm with you. Nobody scores their own farm.
- 6 Read your score Each area is scored and weighted. Every deduction carries a note and a photograph.
- 7 Correct anything conditional Named corrections and a re-check date, usually ninety days.
- 8 Receive the certificate A passing score issues one, valid twelve months and resolvable by its number.
- 9 List your produce Certified farms can publish to the market from the portal.
