Participatory Guarantee System · Zambia

Organic certification, earned by neighbours who know your soil.

Growers declare how they farm, trained peers inspect and score against a standard the group agreed, and the result is anchored to a record a buyer can check — without paying for an audit none of us could afford.

Enter the number printed on a certificate, or scan its QR code. The result resolves against the register, not against this page.

How it works

Four steps, about a season

01

Join the group

Register with the cluster covering your district, pay dues and accept the constitution the group governs itself by.

About a week

02

Declare your practices

Answer for your soil, seed, pest management, buffers, water, storage and records. Honestly — the inspection checks it.

~10 minutes

03

Host your peers

Trained inspectors from neighbouring farms walk yours, score each compliance area and record what they saw.

Half a day

04

Get certified and sell

A passing score issues a certificate, anchored to the ledger and resolvable by anyone holding the number.

Valid 12 months

For growers

Certification you can actually reach

Third-party organic audit prices most smallholders out. Peer inspection does not.

No audit fee — dues and your own time

Proof, not a label on a bag

Every certificate resolves to the inspection that produced it, and to the signatures of the inspectors who stood in the field.
